I tried to play a scissor You came up with a rock Whatever I display it’s not enough You always have a weapon Well-suited for the task An answer that just shows I should not ask You keep guard When all I really want All I really need Is some peace And some truth Something real The walls you build around you Seem thicker every day I’m trying hard to break through There’s nothing I can say With no crack in your facade I just can’t find my way I’m through with playing games And I don’t want to contend With you ´cause I’ve run out of arguments I’ve heard what you can offer And I’ve seen the moves you make It’s like you’re waiting for my next mistake You keep guard When all I really want All I really need Is a word That’s sincere And feels real The walls you build around you Seem thicker every day I’m trying hard to break through There’s nothing I can say With no crack in your facade I just can’t find my way Open a door for me And realize just how good it can feel To be willing and to be free Decide to finally let someone in

Sister 04:31
Remember that day I fell on the ice Was spinning around It caught me by surprise I showed you my tears You said they were fake And that was one Of your very few mistakes Life takes unexpected turns sometimes Your path was not laid out for a bumpy ride There was never a sign I wish I could find A brilliant fix Develop some tools To give you the right kick But all that I have All I can serve Is a cheap But sympathetic word I’d share the burden with you, if I only could Cut what’s bad in two, I swear I would You seem to handle everything so well You’ve met greater obstacles than most can tell I know you’ve been through hell Life takes unexpected turns sometimes Your path was not laid out for a bumpy ride I’d share the burden with you, if I just could Palliate your pain, do something good Do whatever I could In a wooden crate I found those soundless Super 8s We watched on Saturdays Just sat on the floor and it was great You and the neighbor girl With make up on, dressed up in furs And then some footage of me That younger brother I’ll always be

I’ve reached out a hand
And I’ve turned the other cheek
But you mumble your hi’s
And look down each time we meet So what can I do What can I do
To change your heart
Forgiveness can be
A work of art I don’t hurt with intent Still my reasoning has flaws And words could be meant Not so harsh as they may fall So where do I go Where do I go For a change of heart Forgiveness can be A work of art I am willing to accept the fault is as much mine as it is yours No matter how I twist and bend on what happened and the cause I only want things to be like before I could stand behind my point I have long since realized you won’t Try to see it from my point of view In your eyes I’m just a hopeless fool So what can I do What can I do I’ve done my part Forgiveness can be So very hard

As the weekend slowly turns Into something that could be long term All I need is an inspiring word Blow the dust off from a book I only bought because of how it looked And some reviews that made me feel I should I put a record on, a forgotten song I used to listen to when I was young And then a sound rings true And all that I want to do Is pick up the phone and tell you how much it could mean to you If only you heard it too If I could play it just for you You’d feel that groove hear that voice see that view As the winter seems to end before it started, (I can make no sense of how the seasons change) I put my running shoes back on The Hokas that I haven’t worn Since I bought them online last fall I take my headphones on and choose a song That tells me youth is not just for the young And then a sound rings true And all that I want to do Is pick up the phone and tell you how much it could mean to you If only you heard it too If I could play it just for you You’d feel that groove hear that voice see that view (I want) No frills and no hidden meanings Just lines where honesty shines Write me something that can make me blush I want something to relate to But still I need/want to escape A punch followed by a warm embrace A feeling that will stay When soft winds blow my way Something to bear the weight Of what I’m struggling to say A sentiment that’s worth To echo out the hurt A joy that’s best described In literary rhymes
